What documents do you need to rent a car in Dubai?
Passport, licence, maybe an International Driving Permit: what residents and visitors usually need to bring.
Residents
UAE residents usually need an Emirates ID and a valid UAE driving licence. Keep both with you whenever you drive.
Visitors
Visitors normally need a passport, the visa or entry stamp they arrived on, and a driving licence from their home country. Licences from some countries are accepted directly; others also need an International Driving Permit.
Licence rules depend on the country that issued it and can change. Check the current list with the RTA or ask us on WhatsApp with a photo of your licence.
Age
Most of our cars can be rented from 18, and some need the driver to be 21 or 25. Every car page shows its minimum driver age. You will be asked for proof of age when the car is delivered.
