Lamborghini Urus

Green against the city

Green gives this Lamborghini Urus a different role from the usual hotel-arrival car. It works particularly well for a birthday drive or a photo shoot around Jumeirah Beach Road, where the colour stands out without needing a dramatic setting. It still has the presence you expect from a Lamborghini, but the SUV body makes it easier to bring other people along rather than arranging the day around a pair of seats.

V8 pace, SUV manners

This is a performance SUV, not a sports car with extra doors. Its 4.0L twin-turbo V8 produces 641 hp, with an automatic transmission and petrol engine. There are five seats and five doors, so getting everyone in and out at a hotel or restaurant is straightforward.

On Sheikh Zayed Road, the V8 gives the Urus an eager feel. In Downtown traffic, its higher seating position is useful, though the car's size still deserves attention in tight parking spaces.

A day beyond the photo stop

The Urus suits a group visiting Dubai who want the Lamborghini experience without leaving anyone behind. It also makes sense for a drive towards Abu Dhabi: there is room to settle in, and the automatic gearbox keeps slower stretches undemanding. Around the Palm or Marina, take speed bumps and crowded car parks at a measured pace, just as you would in any substantial SUV.
