Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Take the long way along the coast

Dark grey gives this Range Rover Sport a smart, understated look that suits almost any occasion. It looks at home on Jumeirah Beach Road, but the appeal becomes clearer when the route opens up: the cabin stays composed on the way towards Abu Dhabi, and the automatic gearbox makes the return through Dubai traffic easy to live with.

It is still a substantial SUV. You notice that most when choosing a Marina parking space, though its raised seating position is welcome when you are threading through busy streets.

A useful choice beyond the hotel

This is a good fit for a family visiting Dubai or a longer stay that involves more than short trips between restaurants. There are five seats and five doors, so getting everyone aboard for a day at Dubai Hills or a drive to the Abu Dhabi Corniche is straightforward. The SUV shape also makes more sense for everyday bags than a low-slung sports car.

It has the polish for a hotel entrance without asking you to plan the whole day around the car.

The details under the bonnet

The Range Rover Sport has a 3.0L turbo I6 mild-hybrid petrol engine producing 395 hp, paired with an automatic transmission. That combination suits the car’s character: responsive when you need to join a faster road, relaxed when the journey slows down. The dark grey exterior looks polished without making this luxury SUV feel showy.
