Bentley Bentayga

Composed on Dubai roads

The Bentley Bentayga feels most at home when a journey mixes open roads with busy arrivals. On Sheikh Zayed Road, it settles into a quiet, unhurried rhythm; in Downtown traffic, the automatic gearbox makes progress easy. Its SUV shape also makes Dubai’s speed bumps less of an occasion, though tighter Marina car parks still deserve a careful approach.

The V8 gives it ample power when the road opens up, but this is a Bentley you can enjoy without driving quickly. It is as much about arriving comfortably at a hotel valet as it is about the drive there.

Room for the people coming with you

With five seats and five doors, the Bentayga suits a family visit, a business trip with colleagues or a longer stay where a low sports car would be less convenient. It also makes sense for an airport run when you want a more relaxed arrival, without giving up the presence of a luxury SUV.

For a change of scenery, take it along Jumeirah Beach Road or out towards Abu Dhabi. The cabin is a pleasant place to spend that time, especially when Dubai’s heat makes comfort more important than spectacle.

The Bentayga in brief

This is a petrol SUV with a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 producing 542 hp, paired with an automatic transmission. The combination gives the Bentayga easy motorway pace while retaining the smooth, measured character people expect from a Bentley. It is a substantial vehicle, so leave yourself a little room when parking rather than treating it like a smaller car.
